Battlestations

The hi-fi sci-fi character-based adventure boardgame in space!

Lifeboat

Adrift at sea with your worst enemy, your secret love and a few other shady characters, what could go wrong?

Lifeboat abstracts a perilous journey to rescue as the survivors of an edwardian luxury liner sinking struggle to divide the resources in the lifeboat while balancing the need to row to shore against their personal agendas.

Each player has a character (The Captain, First Mate, Sir Stephen, Frenchy, Lady Lauren or the Kid.

Your character scores victory points for surviving as well as the survival of the one you secretly love and the death of the character you secretly hate. You also score points for the treasures salvaged from the ship.

Gameplay consists of three phases: Quartermaster, Actions and Navigation

Quartermaster: the character in the bow cracking open the provisions, selecting one card and passing the rest back.

Actions: characters row, mug each other, change seats or do nothing.

Navigation: The character in the stern of the boat selects from among the possible navigation cards left in the row stack by rowers. The navigation card determines who goes overboard, who gets thirsty and whether a bird is sighted (bringing you closer to rescue).

Optional Shark Variant

If a character is dead and overboard, their spirit haunts Davy Jones' locker. He may opt during the overboard the navigation phase to cause the sharks to frenzy as though a bucket of chum card had been played. Overboard Characters take a maximum of one extra point of damage from sharks regardless of how many sharks frenzy or buckets of chum are played. Add +1 to each character's size if playing this variant.
